LEADING THE FIGHT AGAINST VARROA MITE

Bees are more than just honey. They are critical pollinators to about one in every three bites of food we eat. According to the USDA, they contribute nearly $30 billion to US crop production alone. However, bees have been declining at an alarming rate, having lost 40.7% of all colonies in the US in 2020. The biggest contributor to this loss is the parasitic Varroa mite, which has been a problem left unsolved since 1987.
